LEESBURG, Va., April 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — A new Customs & Border Protection (CBP) facility is now open at Leesburg Executive Airport (JYO), offering general aviation and business aircraft operators a new option for clearing customs in the Washington, DC area.

Leesburg will be a significant time-saver for international arrivals,” said ProJet Aviation General Manager Julie O’Brien. “Passengers and flight crews will appreciate our convenient location, and experience fewer delays and shorter airplane-to-city time when compared to other airports in the region.” There are no landing or ramp fees at ProJet Aviation, the airport’s Fixed Based Operator (FBO) since 2010.

Over 300 guests attended The Greater Washington Business Aviation Association’s (GWBAA) inaugural open house event to help celebrate the ribbon-cutting of the new facility, which included several business jet displays by Bombardier, Dassault, Embraer, Gulfstream, Honda Jet, Beechcraft, and Cessna.

The customs facility will relieve pressure from airline traffic as Leesburg is only nine nautical miles from Washington-Dulles International Airport. The facility is open from 6 AM to 9 PM daily.
