OWASSO, Okla., March 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Folds of Honor, the nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to families of fallen and disabled service members, is pleased to announce that it will be the recipient of $70,000 from the ‘Operation Gift’ project in partnership with OpticsPlanet, Inc. Through the online cause-based program, a portion of sales from OpticsPlanet, Inc. from the 2018 holiday season are being donated to Folds of Honor.

“We couldn’t do what we do for our military families without the support of organizations like this,” said Folds of Honor Founder Major Dan Rooney. “We are incredibly grateful for the generous commitment. With OpticsPlanet’s donation, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of even more brave military families nationwide.”

Last year, the ‘Operation Gift’ campaign raised $63,500 in addition to supplies donations, and with this year’s new partnership with Folds of Honor, it set out to raise the bar even higher. Thanks to a loyal customer base, the company was proud to hit its new goal of $70,000. The donation is being broken down into the Folds of Honor general fund, school supplies, the children’s education fund and higher education scholarships.

“Since we started OpticsPlanet nearly twenty years ago, we have been honored to be a destination of choice for service members, veterans and their families,” said Director of Customer Acquisition and Retention at OpticsPlanet, Inc. Alessandro Minnocci. “It means so much to us to be able to run campaigns like Operation Gift and give back to these same heroes. Folds of Honor is an extraordinary organization, and we know they will be incredibly effective at using our support to make a meaningful impact in the lives of military families.”

Since 2007, the Folds of Honor Foundation has been committed to a singular, noble mission: to provide educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members. Its logo of the folded flag is a reminder of those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
