Order: Responsibility For Correct Maintenance Cannot Be Delegated

While there is no question that Air Sunshine was responsible for the maintenance of its aircraft, since the work was done "in house," operators who have their maintenance performed by independent contractors are just as liable, according to a decision by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) head Marion Blakey.
