Next Defense Policy Bill Should Focus On Sustaining Systems, Wittman Says

The pending fiscal year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) will codify significant changes occurring in speeding the purchase of capabilities but next year’s bill needs to focus on maintaining these systems so they are available for the warfighter, the vice chairman of the House Armed Services Committee said over the weekend. “You don't get to have all these ships at sea, no matter how many new ones you build, unless you maintain the ones you have,” Rep.
