Newly elected Senate Republican leader John Thune (R-S.D.) reiterated his openness on Wednesday to potentially allowing recess appointments to skirt around the traditional confirmation process and quickly install President-elect Trump’s cabinet picks. Thune told reporters the Senate GOP will “explore all options” when it comes to considering nominees, with the comments following analysts’ prediction that Pete Hegseth, Trump’s pick for secretary of defense, is likely to face a “very difficult” pathway to confirmation. “What we’re going to do is make…
