Navy Proceeds With Refuelling Of George Washington Carrier

The Navy has taken steps to start the refueling of the USS George Washington (CVN- 73) aircraft carrier, a move the Pentagon had previously said it would not take unless it received signals from Congress that sequestration would be averted in fiscal 2016. The Navy’s acquisition chief, Sean Stackley, told the House Armed Services Committee’s seapower panel on Thursday that the service was working to reprogram the $7 billion dollars required over the future years spending plan beginning in 2016…
