McCain Wants Bigger Acquisition Role For Service Chiefs

A leading senator advocated last week for making military leaders more involved in the acquisition of weapon systems. The proposal, from Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) Ranking Member John McCain (R-Ariz.), has been proposed on Capitol Hill before. It was cited in May by Marine Corps Commandant Gen.
