Thomas Homberg took over as Managing Director of MBDA Deutschland GmbH and Executive Group Director Improvement, effective recently.
In this new role, he will also be a member of the MBDA Executive Committee.
Homberg is a former paratrooper and general-staff officer of the German Bundeswehr (Army). He completed training as a general staff officer in Germany and France. As military attaché at the German embassy in Paris, he dealt with issues of defense and security policy. Homberg joined European Aeronautics Defense and Space (EADS) in 2003, and became Head of Group Strategy in 2008.
Homberg succeeds Werner Kaltenegger, who retired after 11 years as Managing Director of MBDA Deutschland.

MBDA is jointly owned by BAE Systems with 37.5 percent, EADS with 37.5 percent and Finmeccanica with 25 percent and is a world leader in designing and producing missiles and missile systems.
