Lockheed Martin has named Angie Heise as vice president of commercial markets for its Information Systems & Global Solutions (IS&GS) business area, the company said on Monday.

Heise is replacing Chandra McMahon, who is pursuing other opportunities, it added.

The IS&GS area includes the company’s cybersecurity efforts. The portfolio specializes in helping commercial critical infrastructure industries, such as energy, oil & gas, chemical, financial services, and healthcare, respond to and defeat advanced threats.

Heise recently served as vice president for enterprise information technology solutions in Lockheed Martin’s defense and intelligence business. There she worked with military customers in the Defense Department to operate and defend the Global Information Grid. This included managing eight data centers, hosting 100 Air Force and Army mission applications, and providing network and computing capabilities to the Pentagon and NATO Headquarters, the company said.

Heise previously managed major IT programs at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Transportation Command, and the Defense Logistics Agency. She has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Southern Illinois University.

“Lockheed Martin has been in the cyber business before it was really called cyber. Our organization is leading the industry in securing the .mil domain, and we are increasingly applying these techniques in the commercial sectors that face similar adversaries. Angie’s experience leading advanced programs for DoD networks makes her the perfect person to continue translating top cybersecurity capabilities to the commercial world, and to continue growing our cyber footprint,” Sondra Barbour, executive vice president of IS&GS, said in a statement.
