Letter from the Publisher: Safety Matters

"Whatever part of this industry you belong to, you’ll find something in this issue to make your job better or safer."

WELCOME TO THE INAUGURAL ISSUE OF INDUSTRIAL PREVENTION & Response. This one-of-a-kind publication has been developed to serve the critical needs of the industrial fire, safety, and security industry. It’s the first magazine dedicated to both prevention and response for those in the petroleum, chemical, electric power generation, pharmaceutical, aerospace, pulp and paper, shipyard, manufacturing, seaport, transportation, and government sectors.

You might say this publication’s parent is the highly successful INDUSTRIAL FIRE, SAFETY & SECURITY event presented by TradeFair Group. The overwhelming interest of IFSS attendees and vendors in more-frequent information about their field prompted TradeFair Group Publications (now a part of Access Intelligence) to launch this magazine. Whatever part of this industry you belong to, you’ll find something in this issue to make your job better or safer.

In fact, your knowledge and skills may prompt you to write an article for a future issue that could be valuable to your industry peers. (Please take that as a hint. We’re looking for strong contributions from a wide range of contributors. Send story ideas to [email protected].)

For those of you serving the needs of this growing industry, Sara Lowry ([email protected] or 832-242-1969) would be happy to talk to you about advertising opportunities.

Look for the next issue of IPR to appear in early 2008 — just in time for IFSS 2008, February 6 – 8 (see the program at the center of this issue).

Until next issue, be safe!
