TraceGuard Technologies [TCGD] says the Israeli Security Agency has completed testing and certification of its automated CompactSafe explosives trace detection system. The company says that the approval allows it to begin selling CompactSafe in Israel and in other countries. CompactSafe, which is shaped like a rectangular box with a lid to insert items for testing, is designed to extract traces of explosives from items such as laptops, electronic devices, shoes and similar size items that are carried in carry-on luggage, and can also be adapted to improve detection for narcotics and other hazardous materials, TraceGuard says. The system has already been tested at Ben Gurion Airport with participation of the Israeli Airport Authority and at the Western Wall with cooperation from the Israeli police force.
