IndoStarII-ProtoStarII Satellite Works On Orbit, Ready For Service

The Boeing Co. [BA] finished on-orbit tests and handed over the IndoStar II-ProtoStar II satellite to ProtoStar Ltd., with the bird ready for service. That 601HP satellite will now begin providing direct-to-home (DTH) broadcasting and telecommunications services to the Asia-Pacific region, Boeing announced. An International Launch Services Proton Breeze M rocket launched the satellite May 16 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
