Implant Gets Small DHS Award to Develop Sampler

The Department of Homeland Security's Science & Technology Directorate has awarded Implant Sciences [IMX] a $100,000 Phase I Small Business Innovation Research Contract to use its proprietary vortex sampling technology in the development of a lightweight, handheld sample collection device for use in explosives trace detection. The collection device would be able to quickly retrieve multiple samples that would then be introduced to an explosive trace detector for analysis.
