International Launch Services (ILS) will use a Proton freighter rocket to launch the Intelsat 16 satellite for Intelsat. Contract terms were not disclosed. The satellite, built by Orbital Sciences Corp. [ORB], is expected to be delivered to the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan late this fall. Intelsat 16 is a 2,500 kg (5,512 pounds) satellite that will be placed at 58 degrees west longitude.
