The Crown Commercial Service of the United Kingdom awarded General Dynamics [GD] Information Technology one of five places on the U.K. Managed Email Services Framework.

The framework allows public sector bodies in the U.K. to purchase managed email services. It directs contractors to provide a mix of core and common components such as managed email services, delivery and migration services, secure email, secure message and routing, mobile device management, white pages, and directory service to various public sector and non-profit organizations.

General Dynamics will support this U.K. policy through an integrated procurement function that will last for four years, the company said in a statement.

“General Dynamics has proven experience managing large, complex, mission-critical e-mail programs for government organizations,” Marcus Collier, senior vice president of Health and Civilian Solutions Division at General Dynamics, said. “We look forward to providing innovative, reliable and secure e-mail solutions that will enable UK public sector organizations to streamline the delivery and reduce the cost of providing enterprise-class messaging and collaboration services to their workforce.”
