Gates: Verdict Out On Size of $400 Billion Cut

Retiring Defense Secretary Robert Gates, in his parting words to the press, said yesterday it remains to be seen if President Barack Obama’s proposed $400 billion cut to security spending by 2023 is too big. Gates also announced he recommended Adm. Jonathan Greenert be the next chief of naval operations (CNO).
