DHS Prepares For Cybersecurity Framework Release

The National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will launch a voluntary program of cybersecurity best practices for private firms in two weeks, but DHS recognizes the gaps left in the Cybersecurity Framework, according the department's chief cybersecurity official. Since the framework was first mandated a year ago in Executive Order 13636, NIST has intended that the final version to be published on Feb. 14 will be a living document. The framework establishes…
