TSA Awards Covenant Potential $103M Extension for Security Services at SFO

Covenant Aviation Security has received a potential one-year, $103.1 million contract extension from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to continue providing private screening services at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The extension has a two month base period and 10 one-month option periods. TSA is currently recompeting the contract for private screening services at SFO and expects to announce an awardee in July. The agency says that it will take about six months to transition to a new contract once the award is made. Covenant performs private screening services at SFO under TSA’s Screening Partnership Program.

CBP Awards KBR $12M for Tactical Infrastructure Services

Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) has received a one-year extension under its contract to provide Customs and Border Protection (CBP) with Comprehensive Tactical Infrastructure Maintenance and Repair support along the Southern Arizona border. The extension is needed to give CBP time to complete a recompete of the current contract, which KBR won in 2014 at a potential ceiling value of $25.3 million. The services include fence and gates, roads and bridges, drainage and grate systems, lighting and electrical systems, vegetation control and debris removal.

Metal Shark Receives $5M for Response Boats-Small

The Coast Guard has awarded Metal Shark Aluminum Boats a $5.1 million contract to provide 14 Response Boats-Small II (RB-S II), bringing the total number of boats ordered to 224. So far 178 RB-S IIs have been delivered. The 29-foot water craft can travel at a top speed of more than 40 knots and are used for search and rescue, law enforcement, port security, drug and migrant interdiction, and environmental response operations.

RELM Wireless Nabs $4M DHS Order for Portable Radio Accessories

RELM Wireless Corp. [RWC] has received a $4.2 million order from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for KNG series portable radio accessories, including batteries and microphones. T he accessories are compliant with the APCO Project 25, which requires interoperability among compliant equipment regardless of the manufacturer. The order is expected to be fulfilled by the end of June. RELM says the new order further expands its relationship with DHS.

Engility on $900M JPEO-CBD IDIQ Award

Engility Holdings [EGL] has been awarded a prime position on the Joint Enterprise-Contracted Logistics Services and Support (JE-CLaSS) contract with the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD). The multiple award contract has a $900 million ceiling value and provides logistics, supply chain management, and maintenance support services for the JPEO-CBD. Engility has supported the JPEO-CBD for more than 10 years.
