Business Jets, Defense Power Strong Second Quarter For General Dynamics

Buoyed by the start of deliveries of its newest business jet combined with robust defense demand, General Dynamics [GD] on Wednesday reported strong sales and earnings in its second quarter. Net income jumped 22 percent to $905 million, $3.26 earnings per share (EPS), from $744 million ($2.70 EPS) a year ago, but still short of consensus expectations by 2 cents a share.
