BAE Nabs $738 Million VLS Canister Award

The Navy awarded BAE Systems a contract that could reach $738 million for Mk 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) canister production covering requirements from fiscal year 2024 to 2028 production. BAE has been the Navy’s exclusive design agent and international supplier of Mk 41 VLS canisters for about 25 years. The VLS itself is produced by Lockheed Martin [LMT] and installed on various surface ships including Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruisers,  Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyers, and 11 allied countries’ platforms.…
