American Science and Engineering [ASEI] this month received a long awaited $67.4 million order from the Marine Corps for 66 of the company’s new ruggedized Z Backscatter Van (ZBV) military trailers with deliveries expected to be completed by the end of Jan. 2010. The order is the first for the company’s military trailers. Morgan Keegan analyst Brian Ruttenbur believes that the only large order from the Defense Department remaining for ZBVs this year will be for maintenance. However, Stanford Group analyst Josephine Millward believes the Army may purchase the military trailers later this year for use in Afghanistan. Both analysts say the order will help provide the basis for strong growth over the next year.
