Army Materiel Chief Asks Industry For Help Preparing CONUS-Based Army For Future War

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The general in charge of equipping the Army wants to focus on sustaining readiness for future wars and its ability to project forces to a major conflict from stateside bases, but needs industry to accept that capabilities should supersede profits in achieving that goal.Gen. Gustav Perna, chief of Army Materiel Command (AMC) asked that industry help AMC to provide the equipment and services it needs efficiently and affordably. That includes not protesting every lost contract, he said.…
