Amid Uncertainty On ITEP’s Future, Black Hawk Hovers For First Time With New Engine

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – While the status of Army’s program to develop a future helicopter engine remains uncertain, a lead official confirmed a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter integrated with the new GE Aerospace [GE] T901 engine lifted off the ground for the first time this week.  “This week, the [Black Hawk] aircraft was ready to fly and we were able to come to a hover with the aircraft,” Brig.
