Airbus Helicopters has delivered the second of six Super Puma AS332 C1e to the Bolivian Air Force (BAF), the company announced on Friday.

The FAB purchased six of the light-medium helicopters to fight drug trafficking, perform civil security missions, and to execute public service operations. The first Super Puma was delivered In August 2014 and four more will be delivered between now and 2016, the company explained.

The Super Puma contract additionally includes a logistical support package to provide the FAB with the know-how and resources to ensure a high-level of fleet availability.

Since the first Super Puma was delivered, the FAB has also had a permanent technical expert, an instructor pilot, and a maintenance instructor to help the new helicopters enter into service.

The official handover ceremony was held in Cochabamba, Bolivia. It was attended by Bolivian President Evo Morales, members of the FAB High Command, French Ambassador to Bolivia Michel Pinard, and Airbus representatives.

Bolivia and Airbus have had a relationship since the 1970s. This led to Bolivia acquiring helicopters like the Lama, Alourtte, Acureuil AS350 B3, and EC145.
