TSA Expanding Use of Canines For Air Cargo, Mass Transit Security

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) said last week that it will train and certify 400 new explosive detection canine teams for use in mass transit systems and for sniffing out potential explosives threats in air cargo bound for passenger aircraft. The new teams will complement the 496 TSA-certified state and local law enforcement canine teams currently deployed to 70 airports and 14 mass transit systems nationwide.
