The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has awarded three contracts to L-3 Communications [LLL], Lockheed Martin [LMT] and Boeing [BA] totaling up to $483 million for maintenance, upgrades and installation of existing and new security equipment at the nation’s airports. The largest award, potentially worth $384.9 million over five years, is to L-3 to support the explosives detection systems (EDS) it has supplied to the TSA for scanning checked baggage for explosives.
