Switzerland Awards Elbit $200 Million Contract For Hermes 900 HFE Unmanned Aircraft

Elbit Systems [ESLT] was awarded a $200 million contract to provide Hermes 900 Heavy Fuel Engine (HFE) Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) to the Swiss Federal Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS) for use in the Air Force, the company said Thursday.The contract is to be performed over a period of four years and follows the DDPS June 2014 announcement of Elbit as the preferred supplier for the UAS 15 new reconnaissance drone program, the company said.
