Stratom Shows Tool Kit For PackBot

By Matthew Cox QUANTICO, Va. -- Stratom Inc. has come up with an on-board, automated tool kit for iRobot Corp.'s [IRBT] popular PackBot robot. The Automatic Robotic Tool Changer Project is designed equip the PackBot with up to five modular tools on a the rack in the rear of the robot, Thomas Gonzalez, vice president of Stratom Inc., said at the Modern Day Marine symposium here. The U.S. military has fielded about 3,000 PackBots with units in Iraq and Afghanistan.…
