Senate Appropriators Raise DHS Cybersecurity Budget

The Senate Appropriations Committee (SAC) raised the Department of Homeland Security’s FY ’15 cybersecurity budget $10 million over what House appropriators and the budget request recommended, highlighting the changes in a report released Monday. The SAC homeland security spending bill gives cybersecurity $757 million compared to $745 and $746 in the House Appropriations Committee and budget request, respectively. Cybersecurity falls under the National Protection and Programs Directorate, which is responsible for protecting the nation’s critical infrastructure, both cyber and physical.…
