Sens. Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) and Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) will serve as chairman and ranking member, respectively, on the Senate Armed Services Committee’s (SASC) new cybersecurity subcommittee.

SASC Chairman John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Ranking Member Jack Reed (D-R.I.) on Wednesday released their subcommittee leadership for the 115th Congress. SASC members in new committee positions include Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), who will serve as chairman and ranking member, respectively, on the emerging threats and capabilities subcommittee. Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) and Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) led the committee last Congress. CAPITOL

Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and Angus King (I-Maine) will serve as chairman and ranking member, respectively, of the airland subcommittee. Cotton was chair last Congress while Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) served as ranking member. The seapower subcommittee will be led by Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) as chairman and ranking member, respectively. The two senators served in the same positions in the previous Congress.

Fischer and Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) will serve as chairman and ranking member, respectively, of the strategic force subcommittee. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) and Donnelly served in these positions in the last Congress. Sessions has been nominated to serve as President-elect Donald Trump’s attorney general.

Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) will serve as chairman and ranking member, respectively, of the personnel subcommittee. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) chaired the subcommittee in the last Congress while Gillibrand also served as ranking member.

The readiness and management support subcommittee will be chaired by Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) while Tim Kaine (D-Va.) will serve as ranking member, the same position he served in last Congress. Former Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) previously served as chairman of the subcommittee in the last Congress before losing her re-election campaign.

SASC spokesman Dustin Walker said full subcommittee rosters could be announced next week.
