Saab’s Gripen Wins Swiss Fighter Competition

Saab’s Gripen fighter jet has won the Swiss competition to replace its fleet of F-5s, beating out the Eurofighter and Dassault Rafale, the Swiss government said yesterday. The government plans to buy 22 of the aircraft for the Swiss Air Force. Gripen is in service with the Swedish, Czech Republic, Hungarian, South African and Royal Thai Air Forces.
