RTX Bounces Back With Strong Third Quarter Driven By Commercial And Defense Work

After being pummeled a year ago due to charges related to work on commercial aircraft engines, RTX [RTX] on Tuesday posted strong results in its third quarter led by gains in defense and commercial programs. Net income in the quarter swung to a profit of $1.5 billion, $1.09 earnings per share (EPS), versus a loss of $984 million (68 cents EPS) a year ago when contaminants were discovered in metal powder used to manufacture turbine discs in commercial aircraft engines…
