ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — MWI, Inc., The Graphite Solution, is pleased to announce the results of the 8th Annual Graphite Cup. The Graphite Cup is a friendly, international team building hockey competition between friends and business colleagues and is held annually at the Paul Lewis Arena in Rochester, NY.

Held Thursday March 21st and Friday March 22nd, the event was once again a smashing success. Thursday evening was the Opening Ceremony and Draft, and Friday consisted of a Round Robin hockey tournament followed by championship game. Friday evening consisted of a post-game dinner and awards ceremony.

“It is a great way to build relationships with our valued customers outside the normal business setting” stated Zach Bednarz, Sales Engineer for MWI and president of this year’s cup. “The friendly rivalries help bring additional comradery to our relationships.” Each company forms a hockey team and brings key staff as cheerleaders. The day is spent watching great hockey and getting to know the people you usually only know in a business setting.

This year’s winner was Corning of Rochester, New York. Captains Zach Bednarz, Devin McRae and Jason Maynard presented Captain Kevin Logan of Corning with the coveted cup. The cup will remain at Corning for the year, until next year’s competition, when the new winner will take possession. “We view the Graphite Cup as a great opportunity to get to know our valued customers on a more personal level” stated Ryan McMahon, Vice President of Sales for MWI. “This is our 8th Year, and it gets better every year”.

MWI, Inc. The Graphite Solution, is a provider of precision engineered graphite parts and materials for a variety of industries, including semi-conductor, heat treatment, metallurgical and aerospace.
