Navy Optimistic LCS Is On Track

The Navy is confident that the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) program is on track as it moves towards overcoming the problems on the first ships of the class, Rear Adm. Thomas Rowden, the service’s director of surface warfare, said this week. The USS Coronado (LCS-4), the fourth ship of the class and second of the Independence variant, is on schedule for delivery and commissioning next spring, Rowden said.
