Navy Prepares Future X-Band Radar Design Competition

The Navy this week issued a presolicitation notice as it prepares to open a design competition on the Future X-Band Radar (FXR), which will replace systems used to detect and track air threats. This will lead to a competitive contract lasting from fiscal year 2026 to 2033 that will have a chosen vendor build, integrate and test Engineering Development Models (EDMs) and deliver multiple low-rate initial production (LRIP) units.
