Rep. Walter B. Jones (R-N.C.), a former House Armed Services Committee (HASC) member and longtime advocate of the U.S. military, died Feb. 10 on his 76th birthday. Jones’ passing was confirmed by his office Sunday. “Congressman Jones was a man of the people,” the statement said. “He was a champion for our men and women in uniform and their families, always mindful of their service and sacrifice.” Jones, who served in the North Carolina National Guard for four years, first…
