Lockheed Martin Considers Proposing Ground Robotics Vehicle for Border Patrol

Lockheed Martin [LMT] is in the early stages of conversations with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) about offering the agency ground robotics vehicles for increased situational awareness, particularly in remote and hazardous border regions. The vehicles are based on the tactical six-wheeled Squad Mission Support System (SMSS), a small, rugged autonomous vehicle that Lockheed Martin developed and the Army is testing to help carry equipment for infantryman and for counter improvised explosive device missions.
