Levin: Hill Should Reduce DoD Sequester Cuts, And Soon

A Senate leader on defense matters said yesterday Congress should begin the process of undoing $487 billion in “sequestration” cuts to the Pentagon budget before October, calling for a smaller reduction of $100 billion. Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) Chairman Carl Levin (D-Mich.) said lawmakers should attempt to boost the public’s confidence that Congress will prevent or reduce the sequestration cuts, which are due to start next January and last for a decade.
