Leidos [LDOS] on Thursday said it was recently awarded a $918 million contract from the Department of Homeland Security for the Homeland Enterprise Information Technology Secure Services and Support (HEITS) follow-on effort in support of department networks.

The contract was awarded on Aug. 15 and is a follow-on to the Secure Enterprise Network Systems, Services and Support (SENS3) contract the company won in 2017. The SENS3 award, which was potentially worth $684 million over six years, provided operations and maintenance, security, enhancement, design, and other support for expansion of the Homeland Secure Data Network and the Classified Local Area Network at DHS.

The HEITS award has a one-year base period and six one-year options. Work under the contract begins in mid-September.

“By supporting cross-agency intelligence sharing and secure collaboration for federal and civilian agencies, we’ll help DHS accomplish their mission of safeguarding the homeland,” Roy Stevens, president of Leidos’ Intelligence Group, said in a statement. “Our team will be focused on delivering capabilities like quantum resistant cryptography, artificial intelligence operations, robotic process automation and classified cloud service integration.”
