Industrial, Helicopter Businesses Boost UTC’s Third Quarter Results

United Technologies Corp. [UTX] posted strong third quarter financial results driven by operating profits at its helicopter and industrial businesses and sales gains at each of its segments. Net income increased 11 percent to $1.3 billion, $1.47 earnings per share (EPS) from $1.2 billion ($1.30 EPS) a year ago, nipping consensus estimates by two cents.
