GPS IIF-7 Now Operational, Boeing Says

The Air Force’s seventh Global Positioning System IIF-series (GPS IIF-7) satellite successfully launched Friday sent signals to controllers, confirming it is operating properly, according to GPS IIF prime contractor Boeing [BA] on Monday. GPS IIF-7 launched Friday at 11:23 p.m. EDT from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla., on one of United Launch Alliance’s (ULA) Atlas V launch vehicles.
