Final Defense Authorization Bill Heads to White House, As Senate GOP Pledges Return to ‘Regular Order’

The $895.2 billion fiscal 2025 defense authorization bill is on its way to President Biden after the Senate passed it early Wednesday afternoon on a vote of 85 to 14. The House passed it on Dec. 11. The fiscal 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) would authorize $849.9 billion for the Pentagon, $33.3 billion for Department of Energy national security programs, $500 million for defense-related activities, and accounts for another $11.5 billion in activities outside of the NDAA’s jurisdiction.
