EADS Unveils Hybrid Helicopter At Berlin Air Show

The European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co. (EADS) presented an innovative hybrid helicopter concept model at the June 8-13 ILA Berlin Airshow 2010, the company said yesterday. EADS Innovation Works, the corporate research and technology network of EADS, develops diesel-electric hybrid concepts to make helicopters more environmentally friendly. Highly efficient electrical motors driving the rotors, combined with diesel engines, reduce fuel consumption and emissions by up to 50 percent.
