DoD Strategic Capital Office Receives $9 Billion In Loan Applications

The Defense Department’s new loan program to boost investment in critical manufacturing areas garnered $8.9 billion financing requests against a loan capacity of $984 million, the department said on Tuesday. More than 200 manufacturers from 38 states applies applied for loans from the Office of Strategic Capital (OSC) initial credit facility seeking amounts between $10 million and $150 million to scale their manufacturing equipment needs in areas such as advanced materials, microelectronics, and space technology, DoD said.
