DCNS Automatic System Lands UAV On Underway French Frigate

French naval defense contractor DCNS recently landed a rotary-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) aboard the French navy frigate Montcalm while the vessel was underway in the Mediterranean Sea, DCNS said yesterday. The company said the success was the result of the close cooperation between DCNS and Austria's Schiebel, manufacturer of the Camcopter S-100 UAV that was used in the demonstration on 9 and 10 October.
