CHC Helicopter Helps Two Ship Rescue Efforts in High Seas Off Norway

In an 18-hour effort on March 23-24, the crews of two all-weather search-and-rescue (SAR)-configured Sikorsky [LMT] S-92s and two Airbus AS332 Super Pumas rescued 470 cruise passengers of the MV Viking Sky, which had faltered in high seas off southern Norway near Hustavika after losing engine power. That stretch of Norwegian coast is considered one of the most dangerous and has been the setting for many shipwrecks.
