*Customs and Border Protection (CBP) plans to award a sole-source contract to The MITRE Corp. worth up to $17 million over two years for systems engineering, analysis, guidance and technical expertise for the Secure Border Initiative (SBInet) program. The contract will have a base year period and a one-year option. MITRE, which is a non-profit company that manages several federally-funded research and development centers for the federal government, is already working doing similar work under SBInet.
