ATK Reports Strong Second Quarter

By Calvin Biesecker Alliant Techsystems [ATK] yesterday posted strong second financial results as sales and earnings across its operating segments made double-digit gains and the company increased its outlook for the rest of its fiscal year. Net income rose 28 percent to $51 million, $1.44 earnings per share (EPS), overcoming a $3.3 million after-tax charge related to the accelerated write off of debt issuance costs.
