Army Acquisition Chief: Cost Of IVAS ‘Still Prohibitive,’ Performance Is Improving

The Army’s acquisition chief said this week the cost of the Microsoft [MSFT]-built Integrated Visual Augmentation System headset “is still prohibitive,” with the service continuing to work through feedback from the latest testing with the system to inform major decisions next year on the program’s future. Doug Bush, assistant secretary of the Army for acquisition, logistics and technology, told reporters at the Association of the United States Army’s conference the service has seen improved performance with the upgraded IVAS 1.2…
