Amtrak Introduces Mobile Security Teams, Random Luggage Inspection

By Calvin Biesecker In an effort to strengthen its security against potential terrorist threats, Amtrak yesterday said it is deploying new Mobile Security Teams to patrol train stations and randomly inspect passenger baggage. The new teams may consist of armed specialized Amtrak police, explosives-detecting K-9 units and armed counter-terrorism special agents in tactical uniforms.
